Resource Factory mod for Surviving the Aftermath

Creates a whole bunch of resources, using the Fish Factory mesh from the modtool sample (for now). It is now split to be 4 separate buildings. Read more about it in the Github repository’s history, of its many iterations.

Meant as a sandbox-enabler mod to test out game features and learn game mechanics, and counter the lack of resources in game during the game’s infancy stages of Early Access. But has now become quite the essential building because the game’s construction values have been tweaked yet again.

Original blog post as below (maintained for historical purposes)

I purchased a new game just released under Early Access – https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-aUS/product/surviving-the-aftermath/home

And as usual something annoys me so much that I made a mod to make my gaming easier. If you already have the game and want to check out my mod, visit https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/1485/Any and then post feedback and comments in https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/mod-ellacharmeds-resource-factory.1272140/

If you haven’t bought it and want to try it out, it costs USD13.99; use “ellacharmed” as the creator code. Do be aware it is early stages yet and not feature-rich, still somewhat buggy and need some balancing on the numbers for gameplay. But the game is fun, if you like games like Surviving Mars (same publisher but different development studio), or Banished, or Foundation and the like.

I like the design style and potential of it. Plus, I’m picking this as an entry point to learn modding using Unity. The gameplay and UI is rich for the picking. Still lots of digging around in the gamefiles to be done – Fun!

And…it’s good to be back!

Take note though, if you’re not willing to start over with a new game everytime a patch drops or when a mod is updated, please do not purchase Early Access games or play with mods. If you’re able and willing to purchase Early Access games, then provide feedback or don’t complain when the game is not to your liking at release. Same with the mods. I don’t release my content unless it has been tested thoroughly for days/weeks or months even, as proven when I held back updating from Aug to Dec for this particular mod. Because I hit issues that I could not solve and had no time to test thoroughly.

ps: if you’re willing to feedback and give comments or report bugs, please do expect to answer some questions and/or provide me the Save file and log file. Modders cannot create and fix code in a vacuum. If I don’t hear anything bad or that something goes wrong or unexpectedly weird, I assume the mod is fine.

About to pick it up.Will use your code.
Interested in doing some modding for this one also, thanks for the write ups.

Sorry to hear your save is now broken.

– Is this a Save newly started fresh game with patch 1.12.4 or from previous patches?
– Was it an already modded Save, if it was started prior to 1.12.4? Or was the save from 1.12.3 a vanilla one?
– Do you encounter the same problem if you enable mod, start a new game, play, Save, Quit and reload that save with the mod still enabled?

Can you send me a save file? And the log of loading that Save?
You can find them from:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Iceflake Studios\Surviving the Aftermath\
Documents\Paradox Interactive\Surviving the Aftermath\SaveGames

Sorry, everyone. My apologies for the inconvenience.
Mod is being pulled while I investigate an issue – Workers’ values kept decreasing when unassign and reassign. Seems like a new thing as this didn’t come up while I tested it Nov17-Nov20 during testing.
