Surviving the Aftermath Debug mode

Enable debug mode in Surviving the Aftermath

I’ve updated the debug/cheat mod I used which I use extensively while creating and debugging my mods. Also offered by Silva but he hasn’t updated his for sometime.

Compatible with patch 1.25.x only (aka Rebirth DLC patch)

  • Ensure game is NOT running
  • Click on image below to download file
  • Extract and place in Mod folder
    • %username%\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Surviving the Aftermath\Mods
    • create folder if does not exist
  • Launch game, enable in game Mods list
  • Start a NEW game
  • Press F10 to toggle show/hide

Notes:

  • If the Save game cannot be loaded after you have Quit and relaunched the game in a subsequent session, this is a MAJOR symptom that the mod is INCOMPATIBLE with the gameversion you have installed.
  • If you press F10 and get double Debug dialog windows, you’re using an incompatible/outdated version.
  • Only available when starting NEW games after enabling mod in Select Mod screen.
  • Once enabled in a Save, cannot be disabled in mid-play.

Hiya folks, I’ve temporarily removed the file while I update and test it for game’s patch 1.21.2 released on Nov 16th i.e 1.0 Release Day.

Thanks for waiting everyone. File updated and link restored.

Ensure you see the modified date as Nov 16, 2021. If you still see the Sept date, clear your browser cache and refresh page.

You make the Surviving the Aftermath experience so much fun! Thank you for your dedication to these mods.

Debug mode updated for 1.21.4 Verify you have the correct version – date should be Jan 26 2022. If not, clear your cache and refresh page and try again.

I can’t seem to load a save after installing. I always have to start a new save everytime if I want to continue with a creation

Yes, that’s the cause. There’s no DebugMode mod for 1.24 gameversion.

This “Compatible with patch 1.22.x only” statement is not merely a suggestion.
I should add this Save issue as a symptom of incompatibility.

Cannot answer re: when it happens with 1.21 gameversion, since I don’t have the game log to read about that….it could be a myriad of reasons, and it is too late now to speculate.

The reason the mods are not getting updated I posted last Aug, still exists. My circumstances has not changed.

Chances of it getting updated?
Sure there’s a chance. As much a chance of
– me winning a lottery to buy gaming PC/laptop
– me finding my bank balance has increased by the thousands to afford gaming PC/laptop
– me finding a gaming PC/laptop on my doorstep

..which is all a moot point if there’s no chance of getting more alpha/beta testers. I cannot conjure those out of thin air, and into existence.

I won’t be able to schedule time for gaming and modding as much as I used to, thus the need for more testers. Updating a mod can be done over a weekend, depending on what a patch changes. Testing a mod can take days and weeks…

Time, generally. Or a way to clone myself. 🙂

But also QA mod testers.
If you guys already have Discord account, hop on to the Reddit Surviving the Aftermath Discord server (linked from the reddit page). If ever I get the Frankensteined-PC built, and working, and able to run games and modding software, I’d post in the #modding channel there to ask for volunteer-testers of alpha-, sometime beta-status mods; i.e those not yet ready for public consumption. Must be tech savvy though. I won’t be walking anyone through how to install mods, or how to provide me with game logs. And must be willing to test on New Saves over and over and discard old Saves.

If you guys can afford it, a donation wouldn’t go amiss. Biggest obstacle after time is no hardware. And since I need to be mobile, a gaming laptop.
Someone(s) have already donated CPU and GPU, 2 different Samaritan Angels.

I can work out the scheduling, used to juggle my multiple roles and responsibilities, after all. This weekend is gonna be filled with a PC build hack-job from all the various parts, among other commitments. Hopefully, the old pc-parts would work well together. Otherwise, back to square one – no (PC-gaming) hardware.

But really, thank you so much for just asking! No obligations…to contribute, really!

Rebuild with updated modtool.
It is now compatible with patch 1.25.x only (alongside Rebirth DLC).

I tested a few playthroughs – 100%, 200% and 255% difficulties – about half way through a complete game; ie I didn’t reach the complete Bunker phase.

Please test and let me know if there are issues.
Or, if commands have changed, and I’ll dig into the code for new commands.

No, unfortunately I can’t find where I can download the mod. I have played in Epic. There I use your 2 other mods: Windfall and Resource Factory.
But the debugmode mod is not in Paradox Mods.
I’ve also looked through your entire site, maybe I’m just too stupid to find it.
But your other mods are really good.

It’s on this site. “click on image to be directed to a Google-shared link to download the file, unzip and place in Mod folder. Verify Last Modified date.”

I didn’t want to have to deal with PDX mods site at the time I created this as Silva had uploaded his. But he has stopped modding for awhile now, and I don’t want to have yet another page to maintain….

Ahh ok THX. i just see the problem. i use firefox and when i there klik on the picture, nothing happens. thx for the help

It might be an extension that you have.
I also use Firefox. Well, I actually don’t limit myself to just one as I also use the Search AI from various browsers these days.

i think i came across a problem. either when pressing f10 all research was unlocked or press 1000rp unlocked everything. dont know which but i didnt want to unlock all research. are you able to let me know what happened.
cheers

I’ve never come across the unlock all research issue that I could recall. Which platform do you play on? I think the debug panel(s) retains the last used option in another save though. Could that be what happened?

Can you send me your player.log and save game? Either zip them up and post the download URL via a share site or attach them in paradoxplaza forum thread and tag me.

LOL, yes! I thought you meant the Tech tree was unlocked at the press of F10 by itself and no other button was clicked on. That would definitely do it. So, mystery solved, then?

Apologies to those trying to download in the past hours, please try again and comment here if still locked out. The access somehow become more restrictive overnight.

I’ve set it back to be accessible by anyone with the link.

Hi Ella, I found a couple of issues:

  1. it seems that Wood cannot be added as resource: the “wood” item is present in the resource menu but the boxes do not appear anywhere in the settlement (for instance, concrete and metal can be respawned this way).
  2. Fun boxes do not even appear in the resource menu!
